Well-Being Practices
Support your well-being through connection, mindfulness, and movement. Welcome your stress response, complete the cycle, and nurture calm through compassion and presence.
We know it’s not always easy to find the right words when things get tough. That’s why we created simple, practical guides to help parents and caregivers feel more confident starting conversations and building stronger connections with their kids.

Challenges big and small are a part of life. Children need guidance, support, and care as they navigate these challenges. Adults don’t always know what to say or even what to do. These talking tips can be helpful for you to connect with your child, learn about their experience, and help them to cope.

These gentle questions can help children feel safe sharing their thoughts, feelings, andexperiences. Try them during one-on-one moments—like a walk, car ride, or bedtime—and listen with care.

RISE is an adult-centered, trauma-responsive prevention program for K–12 schools, developed by the University of Colorado Boulder’s Center for Resilience + Well-Being. RISE helps build educator social-emotional skills, create intentional environments, and strengthen safe, supportive relationships to foster resilience and well-being for everyone at school.
The program includes professional development sessions, small group workshops, and individual coaching.
Let’s Connect was first developed with children and individual families, then adapted for group settings—and later extended to K–12 educators through RISE.
