Damary Yanes (ella/she) is the Strengthening Families Community Liaison and Facilitator at Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN). Damary offers the Let’s Connect® programming to caregivers from SPAN. She leverages her expertise to strengthen families and support caregivers. As a native Spanish speaker, she facilitates the Let’s Connect and Supporting Caregivers Group within the Family Resilience program, integrating her knowledge of family health and community needs to empower those she serves. Additionally, she facilitates community sessions to further support and educate families.
Damary firmly believes that parents and caregivers must receive support before they can effectively support their families. Through this partnership, she has been trained in the Let’s Connect® program as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Alternatives for Professionals.
Damary Yanes is a family physician who graduated from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras. She has a strong background in healthcare and community support.
Her hobbies include listening to her daughters play the cello and hiking with her family!
